If you work across different systems which are not in a network you would find it difficult to work as the files that you work on day to day are missing, and there’s easy way by default to check if each and every file if on your working system is available in other system’s.

USB Drive’s make it easy to carry along all the required files, but it’s also important to keep it synchronized with your working system so that you always have the same file(s) on your working system and your USB drives if the files have been edited.

If you are working with important files and want automatic sync between folder then you can use FreeFileSync, which has some advanced features like folder comparison, folder sync and also error handling and also different synchronization variants like

Automatic – This uses a database of the changes in the files and sync’s both the source and destination folders.
Mirror Backup – This makes a new directory with exact copies of the files in the left side or as the source folder.
Copy – This method only copies the new and updates files to the destination folder.

Custom Sync rules can also be created for synchronizing files and folders.Folders also be monitored for real-time updates using the automatic backup.

Optical Data Storage is heading in the same path as Floppy Disk’s, with the availability of high capacity storage devices like USB Drive’s with capacities more than that of DVD’s and Dual Layered DVD’s and the time factor considered for burning data onto a DVD is also another drawback, so the next you get a CD/DVD image to record for just checking the contents of the image then you can try mounting the image (*.iso) into a Virtual CD/DVD Drive using Portable WinCDEmu.

Portable WinCDEmu is a portable CD/DVD emulator which can mount CD/DVD images without requiring any installations, the first time the software is run it installs the drivers that are required for mounting the images, this is similar to the VirtualCD – Control Panel app.

Next Click the “Mount Another Image Button” to browse and select the image file, once mounted the image can be browsed from the newly created Virtual CD/DVD Drive in My Computer.

Once the image is mounted it is visible in My Computer beside your default CD/DVD Drive.

Though the app is available as free and paid version, where the free version has a few limited features. Some Digital Camera’s have a feature called Image Stabilization which help reduce the effects of shake of the camera on the photos taken, the most common problem casual photographers face using a point and shoot camera is blurred and shaken photos, which result in memories gone shaky and blurred.

Here’s a tool called UNSHAKE is a portable app developed in java that can help remove the blur and shaken effects from your images to an extent and regain some clarity in the images.It can also remove dithering and rasters on images.It also includes the gcc3 library.It can correct Normal and Severe Blur and Quality can be set as Basic, Portrait and Scenic or Estimate Quality to leave to the app to set the quality.
