Clean Old Service Pack Backup Files Using Service Pack Cleanup Tool

Did you install the new SP2 for windows Vista and Windows Server 2008 then you might have noticed considerable hard drive space decreased that because of the older versions of the system files that the new Service Pack would replace saving hard disk space.But its important to know that you cannot roll back to SP1 without erasing your HDD.

Steps :

  1. Click Start>Run and type cmd to open Command Prompt Windows
  2. Execute the command “Compcln.exe”. The path is “c:\Windows\System32 \compcln.exe”.
  3. You will be prompted whether to keep Vista SP2 permanently in the system.
  4. Press ‘Y’ for the system to start performing the windows components clean.
