If you are into programming in Computers, you might have tried your hand various programming languages and in any course the the program you are taught or shown as an example is the famous “ Hello World ” Program.
Wolfram Rösler with help from other from around the world has compiled a collection “Hello World Program” in over 400 + Programming languages at HelloWorldSite.It is also now probably the biggest collection of Hello World programs on the Internet.It is also collecting the word “Hello World” in various human languages and the index is still growing with the last update on 30th September 2008.
This collection currently includes 410 Hello World programs in various programming languages, plus 63 human languages.
If you are interested you can also contribute to the collection by translating the words
“ Hello World ” into your language, and send it to wolfram@roesler-ac.de and put “Hello World” into the subject line.
If that’s not sufficient you can also choose the best language to implement the “Hello World Program” after checking out the Hello World performance test done a few years back :
The Benchmark test was conducted on around 50 different languages and ranked based on
- CPU (sec) – Processing Time,
- Memory (KB) – Memory Consumption,
- Number of Lines of Code
Based on the results, Visual C turned out to be the best language to implement a “ HELLO WORLD ” Program
