Youtube.com can find this under their account.Interest-based advertising will allow advertisers to show ads based on a user’s previous interactions with them, such as visits to advertiser website and also to reach users based on their interests.Google says users browsing the web will benefit from the additional relevancy that interest-based ads can provide.

 

The DoubleClick DART cookie is used by Google on websites where publishers place Google Ads, and when users view or click on an ad, a cookie may be dropped on that end user’s browser. The data gathered from these cookies will be used to help Google track the users interactions and serve ads based on his/her browsing interactions.

Steps for Adsense Publisher to opt out of interest-based advertising :

  1. Sign in to your AdSense account.
  2. Under My Account Tab Go to Account Settings page.
  3. Select the button marked Do not show ads based on user interest categories and save your changes.

If you plan to opt-in for the Interest Based Advertising then you need to change your Blog/website privacy policy to include Interest based Advertising on or before 8th April 2009. Follow this link for more information about Privacy Policy Changes to be made.

If you are general and don’t want Google to serve you Interest Based Advertisements, then follow these steps

Option 1 : Visit Google Ads Preference page and clicking the “Opt out” button will sets a cookie of opt out Interest based advertising users.But if you clear your cookies or use tools like CCleaner , Google will again start serving you Internet Based Ads.

Option 2 : Browser Addons and Settings :

Chrome and Safari Users :

Chrome Users :

  1. Click on the “Customize and Control Google Chrome” icon, and select “Options”
  2. Select the “Under the Hood” tab
  3. Under “Cookie settings” select “Restrict how third-party cookies can be used”. This option will prevent all third-party cookies,from being sent back to their corresponding third-party websites.

Safari Users :

  1. Select “Safari” in the menu bar, and then select “Preferences”
  2. In the Preferences Dialog Box, select the “Security” tab
  3. Set “Accept cookies:” setting is set to “Only from sites you navigate to”.

For other browsers, users will have to use Ads Preferences Manager, but the opt-out setting will go away when you delete your browser’s cookies (you would need to set it again manually) or try similar steps as that for Chrome and Safari in your browser for blocking third-party cookies.
