Privacy Policy Wordpress Plugin For Adsense Users
Starting this February, 2008 Google made it mandatory for all AdSense publishers to display a privacy policy on all their sites that displayed AdSense ads or search boxes.Writing a Privacy Policy is not that easy as most did not understand what to write in a Privacy Policy.
Here’s Privacy Policy Plugin for WordPress which would auto generate a privacy policy for your Wordpress Installation.
Installation
- Download the privacy-policy-1.0.zip file and extract its contents into your blog’s wp-content/plugins folder.
- This will create a new privacy-policy subfolder containing the plugin.
- Go to the Plugins tab in your WordPress administration console and activate the plugin.
- You can either create a new page and insert a privacy policy onto an existing page using the special trigger text:
- After activating the plugin go to the Options tag and click on Privacy Policy. Reasonable defaults will be selected for the privacy policy, but change them as appropriate and press the Update Options button to store the new settings and then press the Create Page button at the bottom of the options page.

This is a very useful plugin indeed. I beleive this plugin could be more useful if the policy statements are made much more configurable. Not everybody can go and edit the plugin with ease to do that.

Simplifies the work, but do we really need a plugin for this, we can create a page and add the info and reduce the load due to an extra plugin.

Nirmal » Your right It is definitely a extra plugin for a simple task, but not many are aware of what all to write in a Privacy Policy. This can be used as a temporary plugin untill one comes up his/her own Privacy Policy.

Vaibhav » Your right many plugins for everyday tasks, but we need to be choosy about what plugin we choose since some plugins affect the pageload time.

sara » Thanks for your comment.Your right, The Privacy Policy cannot be edited with ease.An option to edit/add to the content of the Privacy Policy in the configuration page would make it even more user friendly.
