Screenshots are images showing an instance of the active window, desktop to show or highlight a object on the screen and which can be shared which can make it easy for the users to understand.I’ve shared in the past quite a few free and portable screen capture tools like SnippyPicPickGyazo.

SPGrab is a free screen capture tool that runs in the background allowing users to quickly create screenshots and share them with anyone online via a tinyurl.

SPGrab has 3 capture modes FullScreen, Selected Area, Active Window.The screen shots can be saved either on your computer, copied to you clipboard, uploaded to FTP Server or uploaded to SPGrab server.The image output format can either be PNG or JPEG.As SPGrab runs in the background to capture a screenshot users can use the Keyboard Hotkeys to invoke a capture mode.

  • FullScreen : Ctrl+Shift+F
  • Selected Area : Ctrl+Shift+S
  • Active Window : Ctrl+Shift+A

The default shortcut keys and default image output format can be changed under the “General Tab” in the SPGrab settings window by double clicking the SPGrab tray icon.

The only capture mode missing the “Scrolling Window” for capturing scrollable windows/webpages.Checkout these browser addon for capturing scrolling webpages

If you select to upload the images to the SPGrab server, once the file is uploaded to their server the tinyurl is automatically copied onto the clipboard for sharing with your friends.
